The Teen Board meets for refreshments and program planning in the Teen Room. Programs sponsored by TAB include pizza exam nights, reading clubs, game design workshops, writing workshops, and much more. New members welcome.

Current Events Roundtable is the place to enjoy your second cup of coffee along with a roundup on the leading national, international and local news of the day. The group, moderated by Deerfield resident Don Levinthal, covers all points on the political spectrum. Newcomers are always welcome.

September 14 Tuesday 10:30 AM | Classics and Contemporary Book Club
The Bay of Noon by Shirley Hazzard is this month's title. A young English girl fleeing her past, Jenny is introduced to the social life of Naples, Italy, where she finds intrigue as well as glamour, and that it isn't so easy to escape into another life. Location: Small Meeting Room. |
September 15 Wednesday 9:15 AM | Veterans' Roundtables
Two veterans' groups-one from World War II and another from the Korean War-hold regular meetings at the Library. Conversations are lively, the coffee plentiful and participants rarely miss a meeting.
The Korean War Group meets on the first Wednesday of the month, and the World War II veterans meet on the third Wednesday. Meetings start at 9:15 and are accomppanied by coffee and sweets. Newcomers are always welcome to join either group and share their reminiscenes. Location: Auditorium. |
September 15 Wednesday 7:00 PM | Retirement Revised-Author Visit
Mark Miller, author of The Hard Times Guide to Retirement Security. will discuss how the baby boomer generation is revising its approach to careers, money and lifestyle. He will also introduce RetirementRevised.com, a website he edits and publishes, featured as one of the best retirement planning sites on the web in the May issue of Money Magazine.
