Sharing live music is an important part of the Wilmette community. The Library hosts a wide range of concerts throughout the year, with something for all tastes and ages.
These concerts feature world-class musicians and ensembles, often incorporating the Library’s beautiful grand piano. In the past, the Sunday series has featured piano prodigies, opera singers, chamber music, and more. This series occasionally takes place on a Saturday to accommodate the busy schedules of our musicians. The Sunday Classical Concert series is funded by the Friends of the Wilmette Library.
End your week with a concert featuring an array of the Chicago area’s best jazz musicians (with the occasional folk group mixed in!) These evening concerts occasionally feature refreshments, wine for those over 21, and may be held on the Library’s front lawn in the summer.
Several times a year, the Library presents globally-inspired concerts as an extension of the weekly Armchair Travels series. Funded by the Rutherford Family Trust, these concerts will take you on a musical journey without leaving Wilmette.
