Support Groups

The Wilmette Library hosts a variety of support groups. These groups are open to anyone in the Wilmette community who is looking for a supportive environment to learn about diagnoses, gain coping skills, and share information with others on the same path.

If you are looking to start a support group and would like information about the Library hosting your group, please contact the Community Services department at 847.256.6925.

An informal, non-judgmental forum to discuss ADHD. Learn and share strategies and resources, or come just to listen. The group's facilitator, Wilmette resident Dale Davison, holds a Master's degree in special education; she is a board-certified ADHD coach and consultant. This group meets at 7:00 on the first Wednesday of each month.

Type 1 Diabetes Lounge

A support group for adults with Type 1 diabetes. The group is facilitated by Wilmette resident Merle Gleeson. This group meets at 7:00 on the second Wednesday every other month. Please check our calendar for exact meeting dates.

Alzheimer's Support Group

Families who have a loved one with Alzheimer's disease or other dementias are invited to attend this group. Mike Denesha and Andee Albaum-Feinstein, the group's facilitators, are both trained by the Alzheimer's Association. This group meets at 6:45 on the second Monday of each month.
