The login feature in the middle of the search screen, allows you to personalize your entire session. The login is your library card number without any spaces and the password is "patron." When you are logged in, every time you place a hold or want to check your "My Account" features the catalog will remember you and will not ask for barcode and password again. It is important to end your session if you have logged in. You must close the catalog window to end your session. This will insure your privacy from the next user of that computer.
Wilmette library cardholders and cardholders of the other member libraries of our system may access their personal library accounts through the "My Account" option. The "My Account" function will keep track of items you have checked out, due dates, fines, any holds you may have and allow you to renew most materials. Here you may also select to add your e-mail address so that you may receive e-mail notificaion of upcoming due dates and reserves that are available for you.
If you are not already logged in, you may select the "My Account" option from the toolbar at the top.
You will need to enter your library card number (without any spaces) at the identification prompt and enter the password: patron. Once you are logged in to the "My Account" feature you may then change your password to one of your own choice.
Go to MY ACCOUNT.

You may put a reserve or hold on any item you find in the catalog that is checked out or not available from our library but available in the system. When you are in the catalog and you have clicked on "full details" for the item you are interested in, you will see a "place hold" link on the lower left hand side of the screen.
You will need to click on the "place hold" button to place your hold; if you haven't already logged in a form will come up asking for a barcode (your library card number without any spaces) and password (patron).
Some items do not allow for holds and you will see a message indicating that when you attempt to place the hold.
You may review your own account; see what you have checked out, what you have on hold, if you have a fine and renew materials that are renewable (e.g. new items are not renewable).
You may browse new items by selecting "browse new library materials" from the wide blue bar on the screen.
Some of the items in the online catalog will have reviews, tables of contents, brief author biographies and, in some cases, a chapter attached to them to make selection easier.
Lists of bestsellers and award winning items will be available and can automatically be checked against the catalog so that you may see if we own an item and if it is on shelf.
