The login feature, at the lower left hand side of the iBistro search screen, allows you to personalize your entire session. The login is your library card number without any spaces and the password is "PATRON." When you are logged in, every time you place a hold or want to check your "my account" features iBistro will remember you and will not ask for barcode and password again. It is important to end your session with iBistro if you have logged in. You must close the iBistro window to end your session. If you do not end your session, the next person may use your account without needing to supply barcode and password.
Wilmette library cardholders and cardholders of the other member libraries of our system may access their personal library accounts through the "My Account" option. The "My Account" function will keep track of items you have checked out, due dates, any holds you may have and allow you to renew materials.
If you are not already logged in to iBistro, you may either log in at the log in prompt on the lower left side of iBistro's opening screen or select the "My Account" option from the toolbar at the top.
You will need to enter your library card number (without any spaces) at the identification prompt and enter the password: PATRON (all in caps). Once you have entered the "My Account" function you may then change your password to one of your own choice.
Go to MY ACCOUNT.
It's available 24/7 on the Internet from anywhere in the world
You may search the Wilmette Public Library catalog, choose to search a combined catalog of our 20+ member libraries, or select another individual member library's catalog
You may try to put a reserve or hold on any item you find in the catalog that is checked out or not available from our library but available in the system. When you are in iBistro and you have clicked on "full details" for the item you are interested in, you will see a "place hold" link on the lower left hand side of the screen.
You will need to click on the "place hold" button to place your hold; if you haven't already logged in a form will come up asking for a barcode (your library card number without any spaces) and password (PATRON).
Some items do not allow for holds and you will see a message indicating that when you attempt to place the hold.
You may review your own account; see what you have checked out, what you have on hold, if you have a fine and renew materials that are renewable (e.g. new items are not)
Some of the items in the online catalog will have book reviews, tables of contents, brief author biographies and, in some cases, a chapter attached to them to make selection easier
Lists of bestsellers and award winning items will be available and can automatically be checked against the catalog so that you may see if we own an item and if it is on shelf
Has a built in browse function to help you select items in areas that interest you including a Call Number Browse Search in the Power Search function that allows you to virtually browse the shelves of the library
