Wilmette Public Library is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to develop and build a dynamic new design for the Library’s next website. The resulting project will provide a design reflecting the Library’s brand and mission, engaging our community of 30,000 constituents, and supporting tools and templates to ensure Library staff can update and maintain the website.
Sealed proposals, clearly labeled “WILMETTE LIBRARY WEBSITE & REDESIGN PROPOSAL”, will be received weekdays between 10:00am and 6:00pm CDT in the Administrative Offices of Wilmette Public Library, 1242 Wilmette Avenue, Wilmette, IL 60091, until Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 100pm CDT. Proposals received after 1:00pm CDT on that day will not be accepted.

Proposals will be evaluated by the Director and members of the Library’s Leadership Team. The selected proposal will be presented to the Board of Library Trustees at their Tuesday, March 16, 2021 board meeting. All proposals will be open for acceptance for a period of 60 days from deadline for receipt of quotes, and may not be revoked or withdrawn during that period. The library reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals, to waive technicalities, and to accept or reject any items of any proposal.
Sealed bids will be received by the Board of Library Trustees of the Wilmette Public Library for Bid Release 2, Capital Repairs Electrical and Miscellaneous Interior Upgrades Work at the Wilmette Public Library, 1242 Wilmette Avenue, Wilmette, IL 60091. Sealed bids will be received on or before 1:00 pm on Friday, March 5, 2021 at the Administrative Office of the Wilmette Public Library, 1242 Wilmette Avenue, Wilmette, Illinois 60091. Bids received after that time will not be considered. All bids shall be submitted on or before the specified closing time in an opaque sealed envelope marked "Wilmette Public Library, Electrical and Miscellaneous Interior Upgrades -, Bid Package #__(as per below)__" on the outside.
The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud via Zoom digital conference at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 5, 2021. Bids shall be submitted in the form and manner contained in the Bidding Requirements.
The work consists of the following Bid Packages:
BP-06A – General Trades Work
BP-26A – Electrical Work
Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond or a cashier's check in the amount of 10% of the total bid, made payable to Wilmette Public Library, as a guarantee that the successful bidder will promptly execute a satisfactory contract, will furnish a satisfactory performance bond and payment bond and proceed with the work. Upon failure to do so, the bidder shall forfeit the amount deposited as liquidated damages and no mistakes or errors on the part of the bidder shall excuse the bidder or entitle the bidder to a return of the aforementioned amount.
No bid will be considered unless the bidder shall furnish evidence satisfactory to the Board of Library Trustees that the bidder has the necessary facilities, abilities, experience, equipment, financial and physical resources available to fulfill the conditions of the Contract and execute the work, should the Contract be awarded such bidder.
Bidders will examine the Bid Documents, the existing conditions and location in which said work is to be done, and judge for themselves all the circumstances and surrounding conditions affecting the cost and nature of the work. All bids will be presumed to be based on such examination, familiarity and judgment.
The successful bidder shall be required to provide a Performance Bond and a Material and Labor Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the Contract Amount, as well as liability and property insurance as required within the Bidding Documents before commencing work. The successful bidder shall enter into a formal contract based on the conditions and requirements in the Bidding Documents which will be incorporated into the contract.
Not less than the prevailing wage shall be paid for labor on the work to be done as required by law.
The successful bidder will be required to comply with the provisions of all State of Illinois and federal laws concerning public works projects as well as the State of Illinois Human Rights Act and the regulations of the Illinois Human Rights Commission.
The Board of Library Trustees reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to waive any technicalities and irregularities in the bidding and to hold the bid proposals for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of opening set forth above.
