Author Talks

The Library connects readers to books—and their writers—with these great series.

One Book, Everybody Reads

Each year, the Library hosts a community-wide reading and programming series on a selected book. We invite you to read the book, take part in concerts, lectures, and book discussions, and meet the author in a culminating event. OBER is a highlight of the Library’s programming each year, and we invite you to take part. The next selection will be announced in January 2018. Visit our OBER page to learn more about the 2017 selection, Mischling, by Affinity Konar. One Book, Everybody Reads is sponsored by the Friends of the Wilmette Library.

Meet the Author Events

What’s better than reading a great book? Meeting the author who wrote it! The Library brings in best-selling authors as part of the Meet the Author series. Previous speakers in this series include Anthony Doerr, Nathan Hill, Ron Suskind, and Lee Child.

The next Meet the Author event will take place on October 18th at 7 pm in the Wilmette Junior High School Auditorium. Abdi Nor Iftin will discuss his new book, Call Me American: A Memoir. Check out the event page here.
