Join us this summer for a special summer reading club. We’ll be exploring new genres together, enjoying storytimes, and reading lots. Discovering a new book can be a wonderful connection, even as we are apart.
Summer Reading Club is open to residents of Wilmette and Kenilworth, and students in Wilmette schools. Prizes will be awarded once per person.
Read or listen to any four books from four different genres. Once you’ve read your books, fill out the Adult Reporting Form, linked below. All club finishers will receive a gift card to The Book Stall.
Need inspiration for genre picks? Check out our reading lists! Our librarians have compiled lists of titles in a variety of genres to get you started. All of our lists are linked below. Looking for more inspiration? Fill out our Book Picks Form to receive a custom book list from our librarians.
Read for 20 days to complete this summer’s reading club. Mark a space on your reading log for each day that you read to earn free ice cream and a book to keep! You can read for as many minutes as you like, and all kinds of reading count: ebooks, comics, magazines, audiobooks, and books your family reads together.
After 10 reading days, report to the virtual reporting booth below to tell us about what you’re reading and we will email you an e-gift card for the Wilmette Dairy Queen. The first day you can report for your halfway prize is July 1.
After 20 reading days, report to the online booth again to receive a $15 e-gift card for The Book Stall. You must report your completed reading log by August 31 to collect your gift card.
Youth of all ages are welcome to participate, from babies to teens entering grade 12. Pre-readers can participate by having a parent mark their log each day that they are read to.
