Our voices have power. We use our voices to share stories, express ourselves, and spark change. Our voices include not only the words we speak, but the art we create, the movements we perform, and the actions we take each day to impact our world.
Join us to explore your interests and find new ways to express yourself. We’ve lined up a summer full of fascinating learning experiences and reading clubs for everyone!
All Summer Reading Club finishers will receive a free book of their choosing. Online reporting for Summer Reading will begin on June 1. Summer Reading runs through August 31.
Express yourself in art, maker, gaming, and book discussion programs for teens, and do our summer reading program. You can report your reading online or pick up a log at the RA Desk on the First Floor.
Choice A This path is digital. Read two books this summer and submit one review with our online form. The review should be a full paragraph (3-5 sentences or more) and will be published on the library’s Teen Services page.
Choice B For each hour you spend reading, check off a box on your reading log. After 20 hours, turn in your log to the RA Desk.
Choice C Reading isn’t the only thing you can do this summer at the library. Read just 10 hours and attend one library program (virtual or in-person). When you’re done, fill out the log and turn it in to the RA Desk.
Children of all ages can log their daily reading or complete literacy-boosting activities to earn free books. To get started, pick up a reading log at the library or print one at home.
Read for as many minutes as you like, and all kinds of reading count: books, ebooks, comics, magazines, audiobooks...even books read aloud by a grownup!
Halfway: Check in at the Summer Reading Club booth beginning Monday, June 19 after you've completed half of your reading log. Show us your progress, tell us about your favorite books, and try a fun activity.
To Finish: When you’ve completed 20 days of reading and activities on your log, visit us again and pick out your free book! You can complete up to two reading logs to earn two books.
