    Join us for a heart-warming program of nostalgic Yiddish music. Bibi Marcell has performed around the world for many years and works as a cantorial soloist at Congregation Hakafa in Glencoe. Gail Mangurten is a member of the Maxwell Street Klezmer Band and regularly performs with other groups in the Chicago area.

  • K-9 Reading Buddies

    When: Wednesday, July 30, 2014 - 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
    Where: Youth Program Room

    Sign up for a 15 minute slot to read your favorite stories to a trained therapy dog. Grades 1–5. Wilmette and Kenilworth residents only. K-9 Reading Buddies of the North Shore is a Therapy Dogs International Children Reading to Dogs Program. Registration begins June 4 for all dates; visit the Youth Desk or call 847-256-6945. Limit 2 dates per child.

    Make your own animated movie! Participants will create a story, photograph it, and then computer-animate it. Please bring a flash drive. Grades 6-9. Registration starts July 17 for Wilmette & Kenilworth residents and July 24 for nonresidents.

  • Book Buddies

    When: Thursday, July 31, 2014 - 7:00 PM - 7:00 PM
    Where: Youth Program Room

    Older children pair up with younger ones to share books, crafts, and fun. Older buddies should be entering grades 6 and up; younger buddies should be ages 4 to 7. Registration begins each Monday morning and continues until that week’s program is full.
