ACT, SAT, AP Practice Tests and Study Skills

Start Date

When you're looking for help studying for your upcoming ACT, SAT, and AP exams, you might not think to look at the library's free databases, but we have some comprehensive resources you can use online from home with nothing but your library card. You can find them all on our Online Resources page.

First up, BrainFuse. BrainFuse offers a lot of support, including live tutoring, a 24-hour writing lab, and a place to submit homework questions, but it has plenty of help with 14 different AP exams, prep packs for SAT, PSAT, and ACT tests, and even more specific help with the critical writing and math portions. In addition, it has test-taking strategies and study skills. Where is all of this valuable stuff? Hidden under the Expert Help menu. Choose SkillSurfer under Expert Help, then choose College Entrance Exam Preparation. There is plenty there to help you succeed on your exams.

Next, Gale Courses. With Gale Courses, you can enroll for free in self-paced six week classes on a huge number of topics both academic and personal. Choose Teaching and Education, then Test Prep to find all of their courses related to college preparation exams. They have an ACT/SAT Prep course broken into two parts: reading, writing, English, and science in Part One, and math in Part Two. You can enroll with your library card and best of all, there is no penalty for failing to complete the class if it turns out it's not for you, or you've already gotten what you need from it.

Visit these resources for more help and support and as always, ask your librarians for help if you have questions. That's what we're here for!
