For the first time, the Youth Services department, led by school engagement librarian Eti Berland, coordinated and hosted Winter Reading Club school visits before and at the beginning of the launch of our Winter Reading Club program, for more than 2,000 students and teachers. 

January is a great time for self-care. First, it’s a good time to examine thoughts and habits that no longer serve you. Second, cold and snow and viruses are powerful incentives to stay home and do something cozy. How to make self-care fun for the family?

Over the past four months, we have had the wonderful opportunity to host our monthly Caldecott Club program, which takes place from September-December.

For this year's Wilmette Reads, we chose to spotlight two titles, a fiction and a nonfiction book: Entangled Life and Ghost Music. 

Transporting readers across time and space, translated fiction allows us to immerse ourselves in settings and cultures we might not otherwise have the chance to experience. 2024 was a great year for translated literature and we’re so excited to share some of our favorite titles.
