If you're feeling the winter blues you're not alone! Here are six ways to light up your winter at the library.

Light Up Your Life with Books

Join a Winter Reading Club (January 2-February 28). Our librarians can help you find a great read to brighten your day and spark your imagination. This year, all finishers will receive a free book! You can connect with a community that shares your love of reading by attending a book discussion. Find upcoming book discussions on our event calendar.

Take a winter walk

Bundle up and follow the path at Hibbard Park to read this season's StoryWalk, Ten Ways to Hear Snow by Cathy Camper, “a layered exploration of mindfulness, empathy, and what we realize when the world gets quiet.” (Penguin Random House)

Borrow a light therapy lamp from the Library of Things

This device simulates natural sunlight to lift your mood. Check it out at the Circulation desk for up to three weeks.

Cure cabin fever with our online collection

Take advantage of the extra time indoors with ebooks and downloadable audiobooks from the Digital Library of Illinois or the Libby app.

Make something with Creativebug

Learn a new creative skill or jump back into an old hobby with Creativebug! Choose from thousands of expert-led arts & crafts classes, then follow along at home at your own pace.
