Teen Book Review: Housekeeping

Start Date

I read the book Housekeeping by Marilynne Robinson. The book contained a central metaphor around the relation of water and consciousness, and it was very interesting to track this theme throughout the story. Since the narrator was one of the characters in the book, it was also interesting to see how their bias may have led to the narrator's unreliability and skewing of the story. Overall, this story was a very interesting mix of character chemistry and reminds us how some people grow apart and how trauma may lead for us to take some actions over others.
