This year’s Winter Reading Club focused on winter and library joy. Participants were encouraged to “Share Your Joy” and write or draw something that’s bringing you joy this winter in their reading log to put on the bulletin board. They could also decorate a star at the library to share their joy. Soon, our bulletin board filled up with effervescent moments of whimsy, connection, community, and fun, so much so that we had to start adding people’s contributions to the wall! The beauty of sharing joy is that it inspires joy in those who read it, recalling your own experiences that connect with others. Do yourself a favor and visit the Youth Services department to see the “Share Your Joy” mural for yourself, revel in children's delightful art – and add your own winter joy moment. Your and your child’s story just might make someone else's day.
