Computers and internet access are available for public use throughout the library. The Technology Center, located on the first floor, currently provides 6 public computers, printing and scanning services, and a staffed help desk.
In addition to helping our patrons individually in the lab, staff develops and leads classes on a variety of software and apps. Stay tuned for our next series of classes.
Free WiFi is accessible throughout the library building. The signal is also accessible from the parking lot and Library Lawn. Patrons may also borrow wi-fi hotspots for wireless access on the go.
There are currently six PC desktop computers available for one-hour sessions in the Technology Center. Each computer run Windows 10 and is equipped with Microsoft Office 2016 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access), MS Paint, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, and Google Chrome.
Patrons will need a registered library card to use computers in the Technology Center. Guest passes are also available from the Digital Services staff. Patrons may reserve a computer in-person or by calling the Technology Center at 847-853-6566. The reservation can be made for the same day or one day in advance with a library card.
A 15-minute Express Station computer is available for patrons with quick tasks, and is located in the Recent Arrivals area.
There are two PC desktop computers and two iMacs available in Youth Services department for children and families.
There is an iMac and a PC computer in the Teen Room. The room is open to everyone on school days from 9am-3pm; all other times are reserved for teens and staff.
