"Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read. Banned Books Week was launched in 1982 in response to a sudden surge in the number of challenges to books in schools, bookstores and libraries.
This weekend is Wilmette's big event to celebrate our 150th anniversary! This year, the Village is commemorating this important anniversary with a block party in downtown Wilmette with music, food, performances, and kids activities.
September is Classical Music Appreciation Month. Here are some of my absolute favorites. You can find more great albums and books featuring classical music on our display in the Recent Arrivals room.
July is Disability Pride Month, to commemorate the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act in 1990. Here are some great books that highlight voices from the disability community.
